A priority of this office is to promote and enhance economic development in Pike County and to ultimately increase wealth in our region. The claim can be made that community development and economic development go hand-in-hand and that community development programs will naturally have an impact on economic development. Pike County, Ohio, is classified by the Appalachian Regional Commission as “Distressed” and the unemployment rate for Pike County is one of the highest in the state. The Pike County Office of Community and Economic Development hope to reverse the economic hardships of our community by attracting businesses to Pike County and also helping established businesses expand.
